Twilight

Pink, orange and purple are spattered across the sky. Golden splashes swirl through the clouds making a path that seems fit for God himself. Dusty puffs float beneath his feet embracing the earth below in a fluffy blanket. Dusk slowly creeps in stealing away the magnificent color and replacing it with a light, hazy fog. The smell of moisture in the air comforts as the ground prepares for a subtle spring shower. The carpet of velvety green thirstily sips at the melodious gift. The world is slowly lulled by the sinking of the sun and is softly serenaded by the grand orchestra of chirping musicians. Peace wraps her arms around the weary child and rocks it gently in her arms. The child’s eyes droop lower and lower as it is tenderly cradled and crooned. Twinkling fireflies begin to appear in the night sky dancing and swaying with the rotation of the earth. Glowing moon chases them and sheds its mirrored light on the nocturnal inhabitance. An owl adds his baritone to the insect choir as his wise old eyes search out his flittering whiskered friend with the intention of inviting him up for a late night snack. Fortunately for the mouse this neighborly gesture is deftly eluded. All manner of creatures both great and small are driven from hiding to begin their nightly routine, but through it all the calming peace comforts each and every one.
