Sister dear, close your eyes
Until you’re fast asleep
Your breathing sounds like kitten sighs
As languid shadows creep
Sister dear, take my hand
You know that I’ll be near
You’ll drift off too a distant land
But you need never fear
Sleepy little head
Dressed in curly brown locks
Lay down on your bed
And listen to the cuckoo clocks
Never fret, never worry
Little mice know when to scurry
Off to bed, now it’s time
I’ll tell you one more bedtime rhyme
Sister dear, all is well
And all the world’s at rest
The crier sounds his evening bell
The sun sinks in the west
Sister dear, do not cry
I’ll see you again soon
So you don’t need to say goodbye
Just whisper to the moon
Sleepy little head
Dressed in curly brown locks
Lay down on your bed
And listen to the cuckoo clocks
Never fret, never worry
Little mice know when to scurry
Off to bed, now it’s time
I’ll tell you no more bedtime rhymes
